Your build order, down to the second.
MetaAOE ranks the build orders of every civ, shows them over the game in step with the clock, and tells you who you are up against. For Age of Empires IV and Age of Empires II: DE.
Free app for Windows, through Overwolf. Not released yet.
MetaAOE in 20 seconds
Before the game
This season's builds, ranked by civ
Pick your civ. MetaAOE lists its popular build orders with a tier, a style and the minute of each age-up. Details sums up each age in a few lines. One more click sends the build to the overlay.
Tier S, A, B or C, from the current ranking of the build
Style at a glance: early or late, eco or military
Age-up timings and key units for every build
Civ win rates in ranked 1v1, from AoE4 World
The tier reflects a build's popularity, not its win rate.
A home screen about you
Link your AoE4 World profile once. Home shows your Elo, your world rank, your form and your civs, the civs you often beat and the ones that give you trouble. And that's the real edge: for every civ that troubles you, MetaAOE gives you a plan: what it usually plays, the units to counter and the build of your civ that answers it, ready to send to the overlay.
Your profile over your last 50 ranked games
A matchup plan against the civs you struggle with
Every civ of the patch, with win and pick rates
A new build of the day, every day
During the game
An overlay that follows the clock
The card shows the current step: villagers to reach, who goes on which resource, and the instructions with icons. It moves to the next step on its own.
Countdown to the next step
Next age: time left and cost
Lock: your clicks go through to the game
Compact mode, and you can drag the card anywhere
Shortcuts: Alt+B show, Alt+← Alt+→ steps, Alt+T clock
You know your opponent before the first minute
When a ranked or quick match starts, MetaAOE reads your opponent's public AoE4 World profile and pins a card at the top of the overlay.
Elo, rank and recent form
Their main civs, and your head-to-head record
Your civ matchup in ranked 1v1
What their civ usually plays: early attack or not, feudal timing, key units
Voice cues
Optional. The overlay reads each new step, warns you 45 seconds before an age-up with the cost, and reminds you to make villagers. Your eyes stay on the game.
- 45 s before
Feudal Age in 45 seconds. Have 400 food and 200 gold ready.
- Reminder
Villagers.
Counters sheet
They go archers? Press Alt+C: the sheet shows the best answer in green, then the alternatives. For AoE IV and AoE II.
After the game
A short review when the game ends
How far you followed the build, how many steps behind you were, a tip for next time, and your opponent's card. Replay the same build in one click, or browse others.

Questions
When is MetaAOE coming out?
The app is in testing. It will be released on the Overwolf store, and the download link will appear on this page.
Is it free?
Yes. The desktop window shows Overwolf ads; the in-game overlay never does. An ad-free Premium option is being considered.
How does the app know my civ?
Link your AoE4 World profile. When an online match starts, the app reads your civ and your opponent's, loads your build and syncs the clock. In custom games or against the AI, pick your civ in the overlay.
Can it get me banned?
MetaAOE does not touch the game: no memory reading, no automated actions. It displays public information in an Overwolf overlay.
The overlay doesn't show up in full screen
Switch the game to borderless windowed (windowed full screen). Exclusive full screen can hide overlays.
Which languages?
French, English, Spanish, German and Japanese. Build instructions stay in their author's language.
Coming soon to Overwolf
